A November 5, 1984 letter from Governor Victor Atiyeh to Edward H. Look, Executive Director of The Oregon Community Foundation. The letter asks Look to consider an emergency contribution to the Salvation Army to assist homeless people who had left or been evicted from Rajneeshpuram. Atiyeh states that the Salvation Army had sheltered and transported more than 500 homeless people at a cost of approximately $50,000 and asks Look to consider an emergency allocation of up to $5,000.
