Description

An October 3, 1984 State of Oregon interoffice memo from Jeff Lewis (Citizen's Representative in the Governor's Office) to Gerry Thompson (Governor Atiyeh's Chief of Staff) regarding Rajneesh telephone calls. The memo states that, although the hotline had helped with calls from concerned citizens about the Rajneeshees, Lewis was still receiving about ten to twenty calls a day from Oregonians who were not satisfied speaking with the hotline. Lewis states that these callers were extremely irate and did not believe the Governor was doing enough.

This is one document from a binder containing various notes, memos, and official documents relating to the Rajneesh movement compiled by Gerry Thompson. Thompson was Oregon Governor Victor Atiyeh's Chief of Staff during most of his governorship.
