Costumed Baseball team at Hillsboro Athletic Field
Title
Costumed Baseball team at Hillsboro Athletic Field
Description
Fifteen men pose in a dirt field before a covered grandstand with a sign that says 'Hillsboro Athletic Realty Co.' Thirteen wear baggy, flowered 'Hawaiian' shirts and plaid shorts with socks and shoes. Most wear small panama-style hats, though several wear newsboy hats. Two men in front of the group lean over, hands on knees. A rough ukulele-type instrument rests upright on the ground against one man's stomach. At the end of the line, a man holds up a bowl with writing that says, 'For Faithful <next words are not legible>'. Behind him is a bearded man, in glasses and with a black flat-brimmed, campaign hat and a light-colored duster, holding a bag that reads 'Doc Yak.' In the back of the group stands a hatless man in a jacket. Behind the bleacher section in the left rear of the photo is a fence; a power line pole is visible just beyond that. A woman in a light-colored, short-sleeved, square-necked dress is just visible behind the group on the right.
