Description
Photo of a two-story building with three men standing in front of it. The men wear dark suits and have short hair. The first floor of the building is dominated by large glass windows and two sets of recessed doors. On the windows are the words Dry goods, Boots and Shoes, Hardware The second story features double-hung windows with gothic style panes and decorative arches in the brickwork above them. Just below the eaves is a section of decorative tiles. Three signs evenly spaced across the front roof are bracketed with decorative ironwork scrolls, and read 'Schulmerch and Son,' 'Union Block 1890' and 'F.A. Bailey.' Butted up against the building on the right is a single-story building with a wagon in front of it. A sign on this building reads 'Rock Island Plow Co. Implements.' The street is plank and dirt, and a power pole with a single cross-bar stands in front of the second building.
