Reverend Harvey Clark was the founder of the Tualatin Academy, later becoming Pacific University. His cabin was built in 1841. Clark lived in the cabin from 1847 to 1848. Tabitha Brown, helped Clark found the Tualatin Academy, housed classes in the front room of the cabin. The back of the photo outlines information about Clark and where he resided in Forest Grove.

Harvey Clark's log cabin in South Park Forest Grove Oregon given me by Harry Danforth Maryduh[?] Hinman - It stood on 5th St. S. and 5th Ave- The bush at the corner is of old fashioned roses A [?] bush which stood south of the Clark home who for many years in the foarking[?] of Mrs Watt's house (non Alpha Zeta) just on the corner of 5th and 5th. At time of his death Rev. Clark who living in a house, not not standing, on the black wall[?] of Mrs. Deymonis - which would be on 2nd. St. T 2nd Ave - The house in which he died was brick by Dr. D.H. Marsh - according to his sm. wheelock[?] - This is the home to which Dr. George H. Atkinson came - with Deacon Peter H. Hatch - from Oregon City to comanth[?] Rev. Clark by establishing an institution of higher learning - this story is Rev. Clark's [?] during the month Dr Atkinson at the door to any Father is conducting a camp meeting - in a [?] - but will be home soon - which he was when his month of - like mind laid plans for the school which is now Pacific University-;
