Unidentified wedding party with military groom
Title
Unidentified wedding party with military groom
Description
Black and white image of a couple and their attendants that appears to have been taken in a home. The bride wears an elaborate dress of light-colored jacquard fabric with a long train, and a sweetheart neckline. A lace veil with lace edging falls over her shoulders and down her back, and she holds a small bouquet that incorporates a bible in one hand while the other holds the groom's elbow. The bridesmaid wears an ankle-length dress with a shirred front, lace beading around the yoke, and elbow-length sleeves and holds a bouquet. The groom's uniform is Army, with a number of ribbons and badges, most of which cannot be made out. His groomsman simply wears a suit. This image is part of the Herbert E. McMullen bequest. McMullen was a local photographer; he owned Hillsboro Studio and also collected photographs taken in the area by other photographers.
