Pacific University President James Miller, speaking at a podium during the dedication of Pacific University's "Chemistry Unit of the Science Complex," later named Murdock Hall. This event took place on January 22, 1981. According to the student newspaper: "The new chemistry unit features 24 person stations in two laboratories and 12 stations in another lab" (The Index, Jan. 16, 1981).
