Spring Festival audience in Forest Grove
-
Description
-
People waiting for the beginning of "Spring Fest," a live music event, on a football field in Forest Grove, Oregon in Spring, 1980. There is a stage in the background and an AV station in the foreground. In the middle ground, a mixed-age audience of children and adults have set up blankets and chairs on the grass, and have decorated with helium balloons. The event was described in the university's alumni magazine: "Lots of sunshine, frisbees, balloons, and music combined to make the third annual Spring Festival a day to remember. Two large tents were erected on the football field and Pacific students were able to picnic and sunbathe from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. while listening to performers ranging from the Muddy Bottom Boys (bluegrass) to Ki-n-Kaboodle Clowns to Cruise Control (jazz)."
