Description

A Pacific University student with what appears to be whipped cream on their face; they had apparently just participated in a pie-eating contest. The original slide, which was printed in May 1977, is labeled with the name of the photographer, Paul Srack. According to the university's student newspaper, Srack won first place in a color slide contest that was held in that month, sponsored by Pacific's Admissions Office. This image was likely the winner of that contest. The theme was to illustrate "campus activities or university related events" (The Index, May 13, 1977, p. 2).
