Oregon State Senator Victor Atiyeh (left) and Senator Vern Cook (right) put their heads together during a presentation of Governor Bob Straub's tax relief proposal. The proposal was made before Special Joint Committee on Property Tax Relief and Expenditure Limitation. The Committee began week-long meetings to get a running start on the special session Straub called for on September 5, 1978 to consider alternatives to Measure 6 on the November general election ballot. Both Atiyeh and Cook presented their proposals to the Committee.
