Some 100 Republicans march on the Oregon State Capitol in protest of high taxes. They were led by Oregon State Senator Victor Atiyeh, Oregon State Representative Roger Martin, gubernatorial candidate Tom McCall, and Congressman Nick Bunick. The march was called a taxpayers' revolt, in which Republicans claimed that Oregonians had to work first five months of the year to pay his federal, state, county, municipal, and other taxes.
